Pottery Studio Life

The 2020 spring Mashiko Pottery Festival, 

which was cancelled in order to avoid the spread of the COVID 19 Virus, 

was open online from 29th April to 20th May.

The online pottery festival was great success. 

It was also very good experience for us. 

Thank you very much.

Euan is making pots, and recycling clay in his studio.

He is looking forward to share his new works!

Mashiko Pottery Festival is now online!

The 2020 spring Mashiko Pottery Festival,

is now open online from 29th April to 20th May!

Euan’s work will be up from 6th May.

And the other news,
Minakami Zelt, the shop and cafe will open at Jomokogen Station in Minakami tomorrow on Nov. 22nd.

The shop is selling glass works, crafts works and souvenirs.

And it is also Cafe, you can enjoy meals, sweets, coffee and craft beer too.

They will serve the siphon coffee in Euan's cups & saucers.

And there is a small display of Euan's works in the shop too.

If you have a chance to come to the Jomokogen station, please drop in the shop and cafe, Minakami Zelt.

I think it is very good meeting spot at the station!

It was Halloween yesterday.

Many people are having a fun Halloween in Japan recently.
It seems like a just Fancy Dress Party.....

Mashiko Pottery Festival has Finished. (and news!)

The Mashiko Pottery Festival has finished.
It was a long 9 days, from April 29th to May 7th.

The weather was very good this year, without any storms.
And many people dropped in at Euan's store. People who we've known for a long time, people who we met for the first time.
Thank you all very much.

But we are very tired after the pottery festival.


So we are going to do some of the piles of the other things, take some time, then Euan is going to make pots again soon.

The pots with this year's chicken stamp are waiting for the firing.







And we have news!

The craft shop, "蔵ふと KURAFUTO" in Numata city, near our place, has started to display Euan's pots. You can buy his pots there too.
It is a limited small space, so if you are interested in Euan's works, you can come to our Pottery Studio Gallery here, and you can see more of his pots.

It is getting warmer here, Minalami at last.






We usually can see a Easter Bunny Man at our house in the Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, he has another business this year, so we've got the other Bunny in place of him.
She did good job for my children to hide eggs in our garden.






 My boys had a fun to find eggs.

It was quite hard to find the last one.

I made a Christmas wreath with bamboo leaves, pine cone and plum branch.
So it serves both Christmas and Japanese New Year decorations.

Event in GUNMA !

Thank you very much for coming to Euan's Exhibition at EBIYA.

Euan really appreciated of seeing many guests and friends.

I informed in this blog a couple years ago, Euan was introduced in the book, " GUNMA NO TESIGOTO #2, Hand Craft of Gunma #2" , which was published by Joumou Newspaper Company.

Euan is going to participate the Event which is organised by the Joumou Newspaper Company, the Gunma Innovation Market in the Gunma Innovation Award 2016.

I put that event in the Euan's Web Site too.

This month's theme is "Mission: Turn Your Home into Chic Beer Hall !".

You can pour carefully 350ml Beer into one cup of Big size or two cups of small size.

Little World begin !

At Ebiya Gallery, where Euan has been exhibiting every year since 1993, a permanent corner where  a monthly changing display of Euan's work is available is open now.


From June 1st, "Euan Craig Little World" has begun.


Each month the theme will change, and this month's theme is "Early summer, afternoon tea time". ( Garnished with a delicious quote from the Ebiya Gallery owner, Miyake-san!)


Miyake-san is a warm and smiling gentleman, overflowing with good humour. He is also a dear friend.


Incidentally, these two are founding members of the "Pun Proliferation Alliance"
Beware of unexpected puns!

Rum Raisins !

We got a rum raisins from our friend.
She made herself.

I baked cake with the rum raisins.
It is a very yummy!

She sometimes gave me an advice frankly cheerfully. I learned many things from her.
